Marshalltown QLT Blue Steel Concrete Hand Edger — 1/2" Radius
This concrete hand edger rounds the perimeter of a fresh slab so the edge doesn't chip later. A square edge crumbles the first time a ladder drags across it or a truck backs up on it. One or two passes with this tool compacts and seals that edge for good. Available in two blade sizes with the same 1/2 in. radius.
Build & Materials
High-grade blue steel blade on a sturdy welded steel mounting. The blue steel has enough flex to follow a slab that isn't dead level instead of fighting it and leaving marks — that's the difference you feel against a stamped import that skates and chatters. The molded plastic handle is light, won't swell when wet, and hoses off clean at the end of the day. Straight ends let you work into a corner or start flush against an existing pour without leaving a divot.

Which Size and When
The 6 x 4 is the everyday residential size — light, quick, easy to work around corners and form stakes. Most driveways, sidewalks and patios get finished with this one. The 9 x 6 covers ground on long commercial runs and curb work: fewer passes, straighter line, and the extra blade width blends the rounded edge into the flatwork instead of leaving a track you have to chase with the trowel.
Run either one after bull floating once the slab takes its initial set, then a second lighter pass after the final float. The 1/2 in. radius is standard on residential flatwork — check your spec sheet, since municipal and architectural jobs sometimes call for 1/4 in. or 3/8 in.
